Congratulations to Porterville High School band director James Kusserow, who was named the 2016 Outstanding Music Educator by the California Music Educators Association (CMEA) Central Section.
Kusserow took over the program in 1990 for the legendary Buck Shaffer and was recognized with the highest honor that a music educator can receive in a CMEA section.
The award measures music programs and their bands’ success at music festivals, as well as their performances on stage and on the field.
