YES Program Expanded to Grades K-6 for 2018-19 School Year

The Porterville Unified School District Governing Board approved the expansion of the YES (Youth Experiencing Success) Program for all students in grades K-6, beginning in the 2018-19 school year.

The YES Program is free and available for students in grades K-6 at all 10 PUSD elementary schools. Students in the program receive a meal each day before three periods that include academic studies in the classroom, physical fitness and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education enrichment with supervision until 6 p.m.

“We are happy to provide this program for parents to benefit students,” PUSD Superintendent Dr. Ken Gibbs said. “The YES Program creates additional academic support for students in a safe environment.”

Parents can sign up for the YES Program during kindergarten registration at the school. For more information, please call (559) 793-2419 or go online at www.portervilleschools.org.
