Public Hearing on Sufficiency of Textbooks and Instructional Materials

Porterville Unified School District will hold a public hearing regarding the sufficiency of textbooks and instructional materials during the regular Governing Board meeting on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

The meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. and will be held at:

Porterville Unified School District
Governing Board Room
600 West Grand Avenue
Porterville, CA 93257

The public hearing is being held pursuant to Education Code section 60119. As part of the hearing, the Governing Board is required to determine whether each student, including English learners at each school in the district, has sufficient textbooks, instructional materials, or both, in each subject. These materials must be aligned with content standards adopted by the State Board of Education and consistent with the state's adopted curriculum framework.

Parents and guardians, teachers, community members, and bargaining unit leaders are encouraged to participate in the public hearing.

Documentation related to the hearing is also available for public review during normal business hours at the PUSD Instructional Services Department, located at 600 West Grand Avenue in Porterville.
