Community members interested in serving on the Porterville Unified School District Governing Board are encouraged to review the official Notice of Election for the upcoming November 3, 2026, election. The notice outlines the trustee areas that will appear on the ballot, eligibility requirements, and the candidate nomination process.
For PUSD, the following Governing Board trustee areas will be up for election:
- Trustee Area 3
- Trustee Area 4
- Trustee Area 5
- Trustee Area 7
Each position carries a term that expires in December 2030.
Individuals interested in becoming a candidate must be at least 18 years of age, a United States citizen, a registered voter, a resident of the school district and applicable trustee area, and otherwise eligible to hold public office under California law.
The candidate nomination period runs July 13 through August 7, 2026. Nomination documents are available through the Tulare County Registrar of Voters, and appointments to file paperwork may be scheduled online or by contacting the Elections Office directly.
