Public Notice: Proposed Adoption of Inflation Adjustment for School Facilities Fees

The Porterville Unified School District is providing notice of a public hearing regarding the proposed adoption of an inflation adjustment to school facilities fees for residential, commercial, and industrial development within the District.

The Governing Board will consider the proposed adjustment during its regularly scheduled meeting:

Date: Thursday, July 23, 2026
Time: 4:30 p.m.
Location: Governing Board Room
600 West Grand Avenue
Porterville, CA 93257

The proposed adjustment is authorized under California Government Code Sections 53080 and 65995. The State Allocation Board (SAB) recently approved an inflation adjustment to the maximum school facilities fees that school districts may levy. If adopted by the Governing Board, the updated fees would be:

Residential Development: $5.38 per square foot
Commercial and Industrial Development: $0.87 per square foot

These fees help fund the construction and reconstruction of school facilities needed to serve new development within the District.

A justification report supporting the proposed fee adjustment will be available for public review during normal business hours beginning July 9, 2026, at the District Administrative Office located at:

600 West Grand Avenue
Porterville, CA 93257

Community members are welcome to attend the public hearing and provide oral or written comments before the Governing Board considers the proposed action.

Please see the attached Public Notice for complete details.
