PUSD Americorps Update

At Porterville Unified, we believe in creating opportunities for our students and community. Through our AmeriCorps program, 85 dedicated members have served over 2,000 students across 10 schools this year, providing vital support in reading and math while building meaningful connections. Now in its fifth year, the program is integral to our commitment to student success and community growth.

AmeriCorps is more than a service; it’s an opportunity. Members not only make a lasting impact on students but also gain valuable skills, mentorship, and professional growth. Their service strengthens both academic outcomes and our community as a whole.

Recent federal funding changes have made the future of this program uncertain, both in our district and across the nation. However, PUSD is committed to continuing this support through the school year's end, ensuring students receive the help they need.

We are proud of our AmeriCorps members and grateful for the difference they make every day, helping us create opportunities and build a stronger community, together.
