Granite Hills High Girls' Volleyball Named 2015-16 CIF State Academic Team Champion

The Granite Hills High School girls’ volleyball team was named Wednesday as 2015-16 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Academic Team Champion for girls’ volleyball, posting a 3.95 grade-point-average. Out of the 32 state team champions, Granite Hills finished fourth overall.

"This is a great honor, not only for our program, but for our school and the district,” Granite Hills girls’ volleyball head coach Rich Lambie said. “It shows the commitment of our students and teachers in their desire to compete with the best and provide a high-quality education in a public school setting."

The team will receive a banner for display of its accomplishment.

The CIF State Academic Team Champions program was initiated in 1996 as a way to reward teams with the highest collective grade-point-averages, based on an unweighted 4.0 scale, in their respective sport.
