For the second straight year the Monache FFA Ag Mechanics Team won the State Title at the Ag Mechanics Fair held recently at Fresno City College.
The Monache team took home the Silver Bowl for the second year in a row, winning the title with projects they built throughout the school year. Projects are judged on the student’s quality of workmanship.
In addition students are judged on their ability to describe their projects, explaining what the project entailed and the Ag Mechanic skills they used to create their projects. Monache won its second straight title under the direction of Ag teacher and Ag Mechanics coach Jame Corbett.
Monache had two individuals win titles as well. Isaac Gonzalez was a division winner with his road grader in the Farm Implements Division and Dawson Daniel was a division winner with hsi restored John Deere in the Repaired Equipment Division.
Two other Monache students placed third. John Rosa took third with his livestock popper in the Implements of Husbandry Division and Zachary Kidder was third with his butcher block table in the Home and Farmstead Division.
Two other Monache students also competed. Ty Eriksen with his skirted flatbed in teh Trailers and Flatbed Division and Jonathan Moreno with his Large Santa Maria Grill in th Barbecue and Food Processing Division.
The FFA Agriculture Mechanics Fair recognizes those FFA members in the state who are excelling in the application of mechanical principles and technology in their agriculture projects.
