If you have a prescription rejected and need prior approval (PA) the following is the process:
- Claim rejected by IPM
- Pharmacy contacts doctor to advise them that the claim requires a prior authorization.
- If the doctor doesn’t change the medication and wants to move forward with the current medication prescribed, they will initiate a PA with IPM. Sometimes the doctors do not do PA’s.
- If you or a pharmacy contacts IPM (877-860-8846) regarding the claim rejection IPM will send the PA form to the doctor to expedite the PA process if they haven’t already received something from the physician’s office.
