Porterville Unified School District Superintendent Dr. John Snavely has announced his retirement, effective July 1.
“It has been my privilege and honor to serve the community of Porterville and all of southeastern Tulare County for the last 29-plus years,” Snavely said. “I want to thank all of the incredible teachers, classified staff and administrators of this district who have worked so hard to implement and carry out our vision of Creating Opportunities: Changing Lives. I wish to thank all of the governing board members who have supported me and shared this vision for our students. I look forward to seeing our great accomplishments continue.”
Snavely has served as PUSD superintendent since 2001. He has worked over 29 years in PUSD and nearly 35 years in education.
