West Putnam Elementary is on a traditional school year schedule. There are 180 school days scheduled for the year.

School hours are as follows:

• 8:20am–12:10 pm Morning Kindergarten
• 8:20 am–2:10 pm Grades 1–3 and All Day Kindergarten
• 8:20 am–2:55 pm Grades 4–6
• 11:40 am–3:00pm Afternoon Kindergarten

Breakfast is served from 7:45 am–8:15 am for $1.00 per day. Hot lunches are available for $2.00 per day. Milk may also be purchased for 30 cents (regular or chocolate). Applications to apply for free or reduced breakfast/lunch are available in the school office. If you wish to pay for lunches in advance you must pay in the school office.

Children should not arrive before 7:45 am because there is no supervision on the playground before that time. At dismissal we expect all children to go home promptly unless arrangements have been made with their teacher.

Students arriving late must report to the school office to sign-in before entering class.

When your child is absent, please call the school office or send a note explaining you child’s absence. Please list the date absent, your child’s full name, and reason of absence. Excessive absences and tardies will be referred to the School Attendance Review Board (SARB) for action.
